Well, the problem here is that most people don’t truly understand what radiologists do unless they are radiologists themselves. To create an AI advanced enough to replace radiologists, it would need to surpass the capabilities of multiple other medical specialties first. The challenge lies in the fact that AI struggles even with the pattern recognition aspect of radiology, which is only a fraction of what radiologists do. The human body presents endless variations that AI may never encounter, making it nearly impossible to develop a comprehensive framework for recognizing these unique patterns and the diseases that follow them. Furthermore, when it comes to diagnosing combinations of several rare or complex diseases, AI simply won’t have the exposure or experience to accurately interpret these cases.
