@mrlnl13 As an ex-filmmaker, I disagree with you. Making an actual film with actors is extremely difficult and very expensive. The lowest you can go for a featured length movie, was about $12k in 2020, when I had plans to make one and calculated everything. These days it's probably $16k or more. That's not democratized, it's simply unachievable in this economy for most people. And "why go back to painting"? Painting is not the only thing AI generates. I clearly gave you the MOST influential type of art that AI generates these days, and it's not paintings, it's memes. Memes that are NOT possible to make otherwise. I explained that I dibbed in collage art in the past, and most of what I wanted to make was not possible, because the right images didn't exist (e.g. people having specific poses etc). Neither it's easy to paint political figures for someone who doesn't know how to sketch well. However, AI does that perfectly. Another one is remixes, e.g. funny Star Wars stuff that are not possible otherwise. So painting AI as simply a stealing, non-creative tool is not exactly accurate, because it can do SOME types of art, that are not easy, or cheap to make otherwise. So, yes, AI has taken over our painting market and that sucks, but it has created new abilities in areas that previously wasn't easily possible. Especially now with videos, and memes. Basically, "painting" is collateral damage in all this.
