They could make a difference between consumer grade chips and dangerous chips.
We probably don't need much more powerfull GPU then we have now, like maybe 1 order of magintude and we're able to play VR games that can barely be distinict from real and train simple AI models. No need for consumers to have the proccessing power of a modern datacenter, let alone more.
