Robots already *have* replaced politicians. An LLM is asked to analyze the opposing candidates speeches and find spots that are weak and can be exploited for the own campaign. The LLM then helpfully offers to write an eloquent rebuttal to the opposition’s speech. Of course, the opposition does the same with "our" candidate’s speech. So, politicians on both sides are stick figure cartoon characters spouting whatever their LLM support is whispering in their earpiece. To a degree larger than the Democratic Party will ever admit, their choice of LLM support negatively impacted the election chances for Harris.
