@TheFallenAngelWhoWas Kinda the point I'm trying to make... Purity culture is f'ed up and a source of a lot of harm like PTSD and shame. I don't care if someone considers a thing sacred, if it's them by themselves, whatever, but if they're hurting others with it, like purity culture does, they can stick their sacred beliefs where the sun doesn't shine. Sex has no purpose aside from recreation and optionally, procreation. Feeling violated by a deepfake is understandable, but it's not them, so the emotion, while understandable, is misplaced and illogical.
As far as identity theft, no, no identity is being stolen, a likeness is not an identity, we've got identical twins, body doubles, stunt doubles all over. It's not libel (written) or slander (spoken). Deepfakes might meet the bar for defamation on the surface, but that's a hard sell, considering no real identifiable people are actually in this kind of deepfake.
