That's the thing a lot of people that are dismissing this are missing. We already have better technology but cheap over promised features to pump Elon's stock are being let lose on the road without the proper safety tests. We need laws and regulations around this to prevent pernicious actors like Musk. He will always abuse the system to over promise and under deliver, and people will die because of it. It's depressing how many people just blame the driver, and don't see the bigger picture. It's as if they don't realize that a portion of all Tesla Drivers will always be that negligent, so the tech needs to be better before it can be used safely. Waymo has those features and would pass safety tests. Regulation would in no way stifle innovation. If anything people like Musk massively hold back innovation in the space.
