The Turing Test was passed over half a century ago. The test assesses the human, not the AI. For example, a really basic chatbot would surely pass the Turing Test if it was communicating with a 5 year old, right? The kid wouldn't likely have the intellect to detect it. That a sophisticated AI can fool most [or even all] adults just means it has a better algorithm, not that it has somehow achieved "sentience" or "consciousness" or "self-awareness" or anything remotely like that.
