There’s no way to say for sure. But, if we think logically, self-driving trucks will not be on the streets for a long long time not because of a lack of technology but because of a lack of infrastructure and regulations. The trucking industry is a highly regulated industry… there’s no way they’re going to allow a completely autonomous truck.
I would recommend going through with getting a CDL. At the end of the day though, it’s your decision and you should feel comfortable with whatever decision you make.
