The trouble here is that fairness and justice in human situations are not programmable traits or end states; if there were algorithms for implementing fair or just solutions in messy human situations, however complex such algorithms might end up, it is reasonable to imagine we would have discovered them over the last several thousands of years in all the attempts that have been made from various philosophical / religious angles. There aren't algorithmic shortcuts to human wisdom, which is why outsourcing parts of ourselves or our work which really require wisdom is the first step down a treacherous road. (A road we started down in some ways with ubiquitous trust in the biggest internet search engines ~20 years ago and on.)
