@the_bored_guy8 Incorrect. visual art is arguable even more invaluable to the world, when you start to realize the true scope of what 'visual art' entails -- your Phone's UI - your PC's operating system, the websites you're using, the research and development behind packaging and branding and infographics in your textbooks, or informative illustrations used to teach and guide doctors, police, etc -- Art is so much more than just a painting on a wall in a stuffy museum. The problem isn't that music is more culturally relevant. Its that visual and graphical art and their artists aren't socially or culturally considered a necessary part of our society despite almost entirely relying on our talents and skills in order to produce better products, marketing, fashion, decor, etc. -- there's no respect for artists, despite it being a highly technical skill that requires years and years of constant improvement and study and dedication. Artisans are artisans for a reason. And the visual artisans get no fucking respect. DO you know how often people just ask you for free art like your time and your skill is just a dime a dozen, but then they beg you for it anyways? The height of hypocrisy. Besides, the only reason music is where it's at is because its a multibillion dollar industry in profits and, as is all art, a uniquely expressive necessity of the human experience that some bigwigs found out they could monopolize, and have only granted it protections so that they can continue to monopolize those profits while making bank on the artists that do all the hard fucking work. Its almost like this always happens in greedy corporate capitalistic corruption... And seems oddly familiar to the AI debacle, doesn't it?
