Yeah, well, they're part of the self-taught online cornballs that think they're smarter than everyone. That's why Yudkowsky's got a semi-cult going on in the "Rationalists".
Theyre part of the same tech bro/super online debate bro culture that gave us Musk and Thiel and GamerGate and Yarvin, but they just happen to fall on the side of being afraid of AI instead of thinking they can control it. They're not good people! Their opinion that "AI is dangerous" is probably the only right opinion they've ever had.
