The illusion of learning doesn't happen exclusively with AI.
When people read notes or review books as is the norm in my course - MBBS(medical doctor)
They rely on the preformed schemas. This does impede their learning ability.
But it's also very normal.
Many just do rote learning without creating an actual understanding.
The schema making process you tell people of. Very few are true thinkers and are even interested in real understanding and in finding the connections between various concepts they have learnt.
