Right now, AI-based apps are less profitable then regular apps. Once you put out a solid version of an app, it becomes cheap to maintain for quite awhile, but an AI is a built-in expense that never goes away. If the AI companies are eating their costs right now, then most AI apps aren't worth the money they're putting into them.
