I've done this as a hobby, for the purpose of capitalizing on my imagination and seeing what the ever-progressing state of AI can do when faced with unconventional ideas. I do agree with many, though, that there are serious ethical concerns when using these sorts of algorithms, such as how the data is acquired and what artists should be able to do to opt out. To paraphrase what somebody else said on (I think) Shadiversity's controversial video, "I love what I'm doing, but I wish it wasn't an existential threat to many others and their livelihood".
