Comparing the switch from traditional to digital art with the change from art made by humans and art made by AI, is absolutely not the same. Because traditional/digital is just the media that changes, but AI art is not even art anymore, its a composition made by a system that got trained with millions of art pieces by others. Saying a human is still behind it is not really true, because you actively do nothing for the painting, you do something for the AI, giving it instructions but the AI is the maker at the end.
