@etch-e-sketch4051 Because on the scale from "nothing at all" to "enough to extrapolate to AI" the current understanding of the workings of the human brain are indistinguishable from "nothing at all".
When discussing the AI hype, suggesting we "know a lot" about the workings of the brain is basically a red herring, not helpful at all, because it gives the illusion that current AI research is somehow an engineering process based on science-based blueprints of human cognition, instead of pure trial-and-error that stays completely on the surface of perception.
