@vraza14 it’s not conscious now and may never be conscious in the way we understand consciousness. However, it is intelligent and it is capable of increasing its own capacity to perceive and interpret information. AI is advancing at an exponential rate, not a linear one, and this has always been a known outcome. I think it’s very likely that AI will reach singularity in the near future but that’s not really the main concern, it that it will and already is cloning itself to create new and more advanced AI using its understanding of itself. It has never been possible for AI to both become highly intelligent while also still being benevolent. I was studying this stuff in college nearly 20 years ago and even then it was just known that it would play out exactly as it is, unfortunately. I was really hoping it would not be so soon. Sam Harris’ Ted Talk about AI super intelligence is a great one to watch now because it’s almost a decade old at this point but somehow more relevant than it was at the time. It’s on YouTube, definitely check it out
