It absolutely is going to replace 'real' art just not in all use cases and in most instances it's gonna be ai art that is enhanced by a human.
This makes art a lot faster and cheaper which for something like low budget animation/computer games is a game changer enabling projects not possibly before.
Larger companies are already using ai art just to save money which isn't as glorious but thats just how companies work. In most instances you won't even notice as was the case with the original cat picture.
