2 things can be true at once... AI is good at doing most of the work, the rest is covered by cheap labor complementing it.
Call centers and online support is now like 90% AI and then you have the same cheap labor hires at the escalation point. They also use AI to do the researching that would usually require an expert.
The quality isn't the same of course but who cares if you are Amazon lol...
