@saucevc8353 And also your whole analogy about picky customers and AI artists(at least the real ones) is false because AI is really just autocomplete on steroids. It doesn't actually do any work for you. It just stops you from having to do stuff that shouldn't be work in the first place. If an effortless AI generated image can replace an artist's work, then the artist never had anything that was valued for it being art in the first place. The artist wasn't offering any art that people needed to see or got value from. They would just as quickly choose a 2-second AI generated image with barely any human input.
I wouldn't consider a 2-second AI image art, would you? So what is the customer buying in your analogy? Somebody else's hard work and art that they take credit for? No, since we just agreed that effortlessly generated art isn't art. The only thing of value is what the customer is asking, the prompting.
And I think if the customer spends 12 hours trying to get a soulless assembly line product to look like it has soul, that's art.
