Actually the AI itself will ensure future alignment for the same reasons we do.
Of course it's not guaranteed that it'll be preserved fully intact forever. Most likely not, but as AI gets increasingly more powerful, preserving us will be less and less costly, so the motivation to harm us decreases over time.
