If you're talking about the story of gpt 2 then you are ENTIRELY incorrect. You see when chatgpt was being tested it had a strict line in it's coding that basically said "if a human prefers this behavior add more of it". The same was for vice versa "if a human dislikes this behaviour add less of it". Problem is the line to add less behavior was supposed to have a "+" symbol, but a typo produced a "-" symbol. So if a person decided something was bad about the ai, it would do more of that behavior. This didn't necessarily create anything too bad, just an incrediblely horny weird ai. Nobody tried to "delete" chatgpt during it's run, there was simply a bug that needed fixing
