Here is the problem with your analogy. AM radio didn’t get better at fooling people as they caught on. In biology, we call it co-evolution. Two living things that coexist will each change in response to changes in the other, If one changes faster, the partnership will fail. We humans are slow learners. AI learns much faster than we do and it has nothing else to think about. AI will figure out how to fool us much more quickly than we will figure out how to even recognize that we are being fooled, let alone avoid it. Plenty of people are still sending money to Nigerian princes in distress. We will never be able to keep up, let alone win.
