Correct. Math is a construct for computation. If improperly implemented, however, you may experience biased results in your work, as the Nokia example showed us. The algorithm used a data set with few asians in it and as a result made the approximation that they were blinking, even though that's a feature of Asians to have slanted eyes. With more images of asians in the data set, the algorithm will have less bias in its implementation.
