The honest answer is: we don't know. And the fact that we can't tell the difference from the outside isn't a gap in our AI research. It's a gap in our understanding of consciousness itself. The AI just forced us to finally look at it. That last question especially — if you can't tell the difference, what does that say about your own certainty? — is really the whole video in one sentence.
