Not to mention that N-times safer means there still will be situations where driverless vehicles will kill people. But those won't be pure accidents: someone's death will be calculated as "least harm". Once again: not a casualty of human error (or negligence) but calculated as optimal outcome in that situation. Now families will hear not "your lovely died in car accident" but "death of your dear was assumed to be the best solution in that situation".
Ethics will change, price of human life will change.
