@dan_15mm - If you don't like the term "tool," let's call AI a computer program (which it precisely is).
Your example of commissioning an artist to draw something does not apply to prompting an AI to do the same.
AI is not a "someONE" (as you put it) but a "someTHING" — a computer program, not a person.
Like a synthesizer's arpeggiator — which plays notes based on a user's input but has no intellectual property rights — AI may SEEM creative but doesn’t own its output.
The user, as the only actual person involved, should retain full rights to AI-assisted creations.
That's all I'm saying.
