I think that he HOPES that we're in trouble, I think this says more about him than what the future holds. I think this may be coming, but I'm not sure at all how good it will be, and whether the losses it generates are going to be offset.
If you 'fire' an AI it doesn't care, that world doesn't look like this guys thinks it will be. It is what it is, you can run it, but you can't change it, or worse (I think this will be the way) it will be agents that automatically update, so you can't even count on it sucking the same way from day to day.
