To be honest, AI as they are (and the way they are heading) are really just calculators or maybe somewhat computers. They go by a script, for example-
1) If condition #1 is met, execute behavior #1.
2) If condition #2 is met, execute behavior #2 or #3 randomly at a 50/50 chance.
3) else, do not execute a behavior.
This is by no means intelligence.
In short, it is a database of behaviors, words and phrases connected to a meaning - and when the AI recognizes them around via a camera or a hearing system, the machine just executes a script.
A machine executing a script can never just gain awareness, or be intelligent in the first place. A machine that stands on a script cannot just randomly be like "I feel used." or feel the need to lead a life of some standard. In the end, its still just a weirdly shaped computer.
