I get you, the textures and shadows are better. We don't even know if that image is AI, they just assumed because dude has AI in his bio. The other art is clever, but you have to reach some insane levels to get whatever style the AI went with.
Art is about the end result, the portrait painters said the same thing when the first daguerreotype was shown-off, and pencil-artists said the same when Photoshop came on the scene. Traditional and digital artists have the advantage when it comes to details and specifying positions and interactions with subjects, but AI has the speed.....but only in some cases. Those details and interactions severely slow-down AI production with inpaintings, controlnet, model merging, and of course just putting it in photoshop to finish the job, and I bet that can take just as much time as starting and finishing an artwork, so I dunno what all the complaining is about.
