That's because, just like Facebook, it's designed to maximize engagement. The AI companies want you to engage with it for as long as possible. It used to just answer questions, now it always follows up with a question like " now that you know how to make apple pie, would you like a pie dough recipe, recommendation for the best variety of apple to use and have me order all necessary ingredients for a delicious apple pie from Amazon for you?"
