Facebook undoubtedly has links with the gov. Many repressive governments have built their own face recognition database. They also use gait recognition, the ability to spot someone by their walk and range of movement. China's using it right now. The technology is here to stay. How it's used is another matter. People have to fight against the surveillance state.
