This kind of narrative is the result of too many movies, and not enough LEARNING about how this technology ACTUALLY works, instead of speculating. This is not intended as a shot at you, but do you know how this technology works? I don't mean abstractly, or generally, I mean do you REALLY understand how it works? Based on your speculation, I would presume that you do not know, even at a fundamental level, how this technology works. Your scenario presumes that the AI is a.) motivated by self-preservation and b.) motivated at all... which it isn't.
AI has the potential (and is on the pathway to be) incredibly dangerous, but not because of this absolutely absurd "AI will take over the world and enslave/destroy humans" Hollywood narrative. The real threat is that humans will absolutely weaponize this technology and use it to obliterate one another. THIS is the real threat; PEOPLE. PEOPLE, as usual, are the real threat. Any other narrative is senseless noise.
