I've heard people compare AI prompts to art direction, and it fit as well. Except that once you give a prompt the AI tools aren't creating anything original and currently the vast majority of sources are stolen. The day when AI machines use only material that is being paid to the original artists, I'll be fine with everyone using prompts to make images. Just don't claim them as "art" but images that were fabricated to specific instructions.
