In 2-4 years, most online content people see for the first time will be considered fake until proven real. The issue of realistic AI-generated images has already pillaged Pinterest. When videos become as easy and quick to produce, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok will be next. My biggest fear relating to this is the impossible verification and the rewriting of historical documents, files and media. Future generations may will find it hard to know if any of the 'history' they see is real. I wonder is the day will come where seemingly-real fake media completely outnumbers the authentic.
