Humans can drive with only visual input. So the same goes for autonomous vehicles. The rest is a (solvable) software problem. I don't know of any human having LiDAR and yet we can drive? According to this comment humans shouldn't be able to drive either fully driverless, without the help of LiDAR and yet we can.
