@nikitamcconnell8027 There is a difference between learning and thinking. Animals and robots can learn but they don't think. Please read Darwin's book, The Origin of Species". Darwinian Evolution is based on efficiency. Those that more efficient in hunting and escaping predation used energy more efficiently and thus were able to produce more offspring than those competing in the same niche.That is how species were more fit and were able to survive in competition. I recall reading textbook with a similar premise for the rise and fall of empires in one of my history classes during my college days.
It is the ability for robots to think that worries those in science. If robots with AI have human thinking, then they will not need and therefore want us because we would be using resources such as energy that robots use. There are scientists who think that robotic aliens have replaced their organic life creators, if they exist, in other places in the universe.
P.S. Darwin was not accepted in his time because he could not explain the source or the cause of the adaptive change seen in the origin of new species. It wasn't till the discovery of chromosomes via the microscope along with Mendelian genetics that Darwinian evolution was accepted.
