Make no mistake, I'm not for or against AI. I'm stating the fact, the law does not side based on current copyright laws since it is not a copy but emulation of style; which can not be copyright.
The usage of copyright materials to train might be a grey area because it is commercialized. A lawsuit is needed to force precedent whether the consumption of copyright materials in the process of new materials grants royalty to the original work. I don't know, but it seems closer to fair use.
