fact that it could end humanity doesent mean it has to happen it could do oposite too ... end all wars forever end poverty, hunger, all disseeses it could solve all problems todays world is facing there are allways 2 sides to one coin for example you can use fire to cook food warm your self or you can use it to burn down vilage does this mean that we should not use fire ? or fact that you can kill someone with knife does it mean that we should not use knifes ? or bioengineering you can use it to increase yield of crops create vacines or you can use it to create leathal bioweapon should you be afraid of it ?
AI is same thing as everything else it can forge unimaginable beautiful future or it can lead to elimination of all living should you constrain it and prevent it from ever reaching that state ? my ansver is hell NO just fact that something can do harm doesent mean that it will and if you limit its capability to do harm you limit also one to do good you cant have just one side of coin you just need to trust it I believe its worth it
