Yes in an ideal world art is "democratized" like you say (although it always had been, you just had to put in a bit of practice and effort). But the ethics issue is AI art doesn't exist without human artists, and without consent or compensation it's just theft. Realistically these companies won't be offering compensation to each artist who had their work trained off or displaced by this tech either. People choose to ignore this because it's not their livelihoods being lost, yet.
