A self washing ritual....he didn't know what OpenAI will do and how, he didn't know what the I investors wanted and how they would have used the tech? Absolutely knew everything. The scientists, so called scientists, in their life are always ambitious to reach the skyrocketing results, mo matter what and how, even that is a threat. They can stop and yell on others when they made a fortune on it or opposite, were never into the community and spent all their professional life aborted. Scientific world is quite ugly once you are there. People are psycho and uncontrolled..biotech, silicone tech etc. doesn't matter, the more abstract topic they research the more crazy they are..plus, all science had been turned into money incubator startups. That is even taught in the universities. So, the guys who graduate start already some blsht on aim to be noticed and get a chance. Any topic comes in their minds, even never needed by a humanity, or they fall into the corporations interests and try to feed them with smth in their labs. Because they want fame and money asap. This desire turns most of the reaserch ears into a threat for the humanity, which nobody discusses anywhere. The true scientists is a person who goes though a topic with two opposite views, always. He has no preferences, he has to look through all threats, opportunities, application ways, usefulness, rationality, and prediction of exploitation. And even if the result comes negative, that is a scientific knowledge anyway..it was totally ok before to have openly negative results and conclusions based on a such. Today all science is stretched over the assumption, even evidences are composed, rewritten or fantasized, if offered at all. All science is under money machine..to publish an article a one needs a sponsor because the article costs from 2k usd! All scientific sector is under extremely corrupted system of making science. This no real talents cam make it through, but those who comply, please and work for... it's a mess. And having been being a part of it at least has to come with excuses to the humanity. The guy didn't consider this at all. No guilty feeling, no responsibility.
