AI slowly fragment bits of data and need defragmenting to continue operating smoothly (like a computer). This process could be the equivalent of homeostasis to us (the process of maintaining life). One could easily go on and compare the eventual degradation of hardware to the point it becomes corrupt and salvageable and compare that to death for us. Assuming a robot is made of hardware, you could say that they are like us and age.
