Edgardo Peregrino No, they will not become self aware. In fact, that is highly unlikely. AI in the sense that they are talking about is just a robot that has free reign to operate within a pre-programmed set of rules, its programming. A regular robot only acts when it has an input from an operator. An AI simply does not require human input.
The AI you are thinking of is leaps and bounds away from anything we can even understand. For a robot to become self aware requires something that we dont even know about.
