Considering the number of people who drive every day, it isn't hard to imagine that even well made self-driving cars could be put into bad situations. Especially if you consider the fact that not every car would be self-driving. People could and potentially would purposely attempt to put someone in a dangerous vehicular scenario. It might be a bit more complicated, but certainly people have cut brake lines in the past or performed purposeful sabotage.
