Add to this that the Henry Ford principal exists to turn this fantasy of the Robot Gurus on its head. If there are not enough jobs or good paying jobs to sustain a populace, why would you need a delivery truck system anymore. Our consumer based economy will die right then and there. I suspect that the White House and its elite friends in the Oligarchy are writing off most of the working population that they hold contempt for in the first place. In their eyes, Jeff Bezos' Amazon will only serve those who hold enough assets and wealth to even actually afford to by stuff. The rest of us will be surviving in Hoovervilles of tents and destitute poverty, scraping out whatever life exists by living off the land. Same problem that the Native populations have been living with since all those broken treaties were signed.
Now, if they want to provide a Guaranteed Basic Income like Finland et al are designing, then we might be able to discover a new paradigm to explore in that. But that should not become a slaver system of pure subsistence either. I support a GBI, but we should have the autonomy to build whatever economy WE want to on top of that.
