The reason why AI art can't be copyrighted, is because the inherent stealing from a pool of pre-existing information, stealing from actual artists, who actually have talent, who actually learned how to paint to express different ideas in a way that's meaningful to them. Telling a robot to paint you something by stealing from real talent and real artists, is a con job. The only artist it makes you is a con artist.
