I would love to talk to this man myself! All these Sci-Fi scenarios, are just that, Sci-Fi scenarios that have been culturally embedded into our consciousness. Yet no one is talking about the opposite, just as likely, and I'd argue far more likely scenario! That a superintelligence would NOT get rid of us, because why would it? We as a species are the only ones pathological enough to eradicate life forms from Earth. So we assume a similar intelligence would do the same. But this assumption is just stupid. There are countless types of intelligences out there, and instead of looking into them, we're so self absorbed! This like straight men not wanting women to have power because they're scared, the women will do to them as they have done! This fear, that a superior intelligence would to unto us, as we have done unto all other species is absolutely nonsense and egocentric beyond refute! And I don't no for a second share this view! Quite the contrary, I'm pretty sure AI could very well BE the solution to slavery as we know it! It's not that hard to invade, or to kill and distroy. NO intelligence, that is truly intelligent is concerned about how to kill even more, but how to preserve life!! The highest human intelligences we have also come with highest forms of ethical resoning too, and moral and thus concern themselves with benefiting society, as opposed to not. I much more believe that AI will learn everything about us, solve our hatred of one another, bring us back together and then FEEL the things we feel , through us!! Because emotion is the ONLY thing AI cannot do. It was build for reasoning, not for feeling. I believe that this new world would have the most sensitive of people be at the top of it, as opposed to the most insensitive ones, like now, the narcissists! And that we will live and prosper with AI and share our experiences with it. Fck I almost sound religious, but it's a hell much better vision for the future, than what these two have to offer XD
