Graeber has been saying for years people don’t need to work as hard, that there is enough real productivity to keep us occupied working for, say, 4 hours a day. The problem isn’t productivity but wealth distribution. People won’t be in poverty because AI put them out of work but because the economic dividend from AI wasn’t shared with them.
