As a human artist, if I am influenced by a certain artist or set of artists styles, then I have likely consumed a lot of their art (your “dataset” that you describe). This influence then leads me to create my own 100% unique pieces of art that may look similar to your style. Not illegal and I don’t need your consent to use your style. You cannot “own” a style of art. If that were true, schools would be sued for teaching students to paint like Picasso, or Monet, etc. The fact is, every artist, including you, has been influenced by other artists at some point and that influence has come out in your style today. Case in point, your characters are clearly very influenced by Disney characters such as those in Repunzel and Frozen…it’s completely obvious. But it’s still unique b/c your overall style and subject matter is different. And this is exactly what AI is doing. You’re just upset because it threatens your livelihood and the art community in general…which is understandable and scary. But not illegal.
