It winds me up so much when I hear AI is the 4th industrial revolution - it’s not it’s different!!! AI is the replacement of humans on a cognitive capacity - previous revolutions required people to operate the machinery or build the software/systems. You cannot compare like for like. What scares me is the people at the top I.e. FAANG is run by a bunch of autists who don’t understand people or the economy. You need people in work to buy your products, if people are out of work the demand for your goods/services drops exponentially. Capitalism and the economy runs on inefficiency, being maximally efficient is actually the worst thing economies can do as it means humans and jobs are fully redundant. The governments really need to intervene and regulate this ASAP I.e. any companies reporting maximum profits but still do mass layoffs should be fined or taxed way more - people need to wake up!!!! We are heading towards economic disaster
